Hatem Al Ta’ai Palace

The Houses of Hatim Al-Ta’i are located in the historic village of Tuwaran, approximately 55 km from Hail city, nestled at the foothills of the famous Aja Mountain. This site stands as one of the most iconic landmarks in the region, symbolizing the essence of Arab generosity and noble character. The village is forever linked to the legendary Hatim Al-Ta’i, the most renowned Arab poet and knight known for his unmatched generosity—so much so that the saying “More generous than Hatim” became immortalized in Arab culture.

Within the village lie several archaeological sites dating back centuries, including an ancient mud-brick palace believed to have been Hatem Al Ta’ai Palace . The palace sits atop a scenic hill surrounded by rocky formations, offering panoramic views of the surrounding desert. Nearby, a small cemetery contains two remarkable graves — one about 9.5 meters long and the other about 7.25 meters — believed to belong to Hatim Al-Ta’i and a close family member.

This site is one of Hail’s most significant heritage destinations, attracting visitors and historians from across the Kingdom and beyond, eager to explore the life and legend of a man whose name became synonymous with generosity and hospitality.

Today, the Hatem Al Ta’ai Palace have become a major tourist and cultural attraction included in Wadi Trip’s guided tours.
