The House of Allegiance (Bay’ah House) in Al-Ahsa is one of Saudi Arabia’s most significant historical landmarks, symbolizing the unity of the Kingdom. It was here that the people of Al-Ahsa pledged their allegiance to King Abdulaziz Al Saud in 1331 AH (1913 CE), marking a defining moment in the nation’s unification.
Located in the Al-Koot district of Al-Hofuf, the house originally belonged to Sheikh Abdul Latif Al-Mulla, one of the region’s notable figures. Built in 1203 AH (1788 CE), the house spans about 705 square meters and features traditional Najdi architecture characterized by simple elegance and detailed craftsmanship.
On 5 Jumada Al-Awwal 1331 AH, King Abdulaziz entered this house to receive the oath of allegiance from the people of Al-Ahsa, an event that established it as a historic symbol of loyalty and national unity. Since then, it has been known as Bay’ah House, a landmark deeply tied to the founding story of Saudi Arabia.
The house includes several rooms and open courtyards, with a main hall displaying rare historical photos and documents related to the allegiance event. It also features exhibits of tools, furnishings, and artifacts from that era, allowing visitors to experience the authentic ambiance of early 20th-century Al-Ahsa.
