Gate of Mecca

Gate of Mecca  is one of the most prominent landmarks of Historic Jeddah. It is one of the eight gates that once formed part of the old Jeddah Wall, serving as the city’s eastern gateway.

Located opposite Souq Al-Badu, the gate leads directly to traditional markets and the vibrant haraj area, where trade and culture have thrived for centuries. Historically, it was also used as a route for processions heading to Sheikh Al-Asad Cemetery, situated just beyond the eastern side of the wall.

Today, Gate of Mecca stands as a key symbol of Jeddah’s heritage, attracting visitors eager to explore the city’s traditional architecture, lively markets, and authentic atmosphere.
