Qiblatain Mosque

Qiblatain Mosque (The Mosque of the Two Qiblas) is one of the most significant religious and historical landmarks in Madinah. It was named so because it witnessed a unique event where the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ prayed two units (rak’ahs) — the first facing Jerusalem (Bayt Al-Maqdis), and the second facing the Kaaba in Makkah, following the divine command to change the Qibla direction.

Located in the northwestern part of the city, the mosque marks a pivotal moment in Islamic history. In the second year after Hijrah, revelation descended upon the Prophet ﷺ during the noon prayer, instructing him to turn from facing Jerusalem to the Kaaba. Since then, Qiblatain Mosque has stood as a symbol of Islamic unity and obedience, reflecting the deep faith and devotion of the Muslim community.

Architecturally, the mosque is a masterpiece combining traditional Islamic design with modern elements. It features a striking white dome, two elegant minarets, and a spacious courtyard surrounded by arched corridors. The interior is adorned with beautiful calligraphy and soft lighting that create an atmosphere of serenity and reverence.

Today, the mosque is a must-visit destination for pilgrims and tourists alike, offering a spiritual journey that connects two of Islam’s holiest directions — Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Kaaba.
