Tayebat Museum

The Al-Tayebat Museum for Science and Knowledge, also known as Al-Tayebat City, is one of Jeddah’s most distinguished cultural landmarks. It was founded by Sheikh Abdul Raouf Hassan Khalil (1937–2008), whose lifelong passion for history and heritage led him to collect rare artifacts for over 45 years before establishing this monumental museum that celebrates human creativity and civilization.

Covering an area of 10,000 square meters, the museum consists of 12 buildings designed in traditional Hijazi architectural style, featuring laboratories, exhibition halls, and educational sections. Each building showcases a unique aspect of Saudi, Islamic, and global heritage. Notable sections include:

  • Saudi Heritage House – chronicling the Kingdom’s evolution from ancient times to its unification under King Abdulaziz.

  • Islamic Heritage House – displaying ancient manuscripts, architectural models, and artifacts from across the Islamic world.

  • World Heritage House – presenting diverse cultures and civilizations from around the globe.

  • General Heritage Exhibition – featuring tools, crafts, and everyday objects from early Arabian life.

The museum also houses over 18 specialized exhibition halls, including galleries for global fine arts, jewelry and minerals, and international cultural arts. These exhibits offer visitors an immersive journey through human history, creativity, and craftsmanship.

The Al-Tayebat Museum stands as a symbol of cultural pride and intellectual richness, blending traditional artistry with educational depth. It reflects the timeless spirit of Saudi Arabia and its connection to global civilization.
